WORRY
"...I tried calling my mom and she didn't answer..."
My experience:
- I was the only one in the house when it happened.
- I saw the tree in my backyard flip over and fall in the building next to my house.
- I felt the house move from side to side.
- The first floor people locked the basement so I had to stay up in my house on the floor.
- I saw trees fall down.
- I saw houses completely on the floor
- I saw people looking for shelter
- I heard kids crying
- I saw a school bus destroyed
- I saw the tornado in the news and was impacted because I’ve never experienced something like that.
- As if I was never going to see my family again.
"I attend Central High School as a freshmen. The night of the tornado I was in my room watching t.v. with my one year old brother. It was so scary, hail (the size of quarters) were hitting against my window. The winds were very strong. I felt my house shaking. I began to pray for God to keep my family safe. My little sister had warned me to move away from the window but I laughed and told her “this is springfield, we will never have a tornado.” Less than 2 minutes later, lightening struck in front of my eyes and blew up my t.v. I took my little brother in my arms and wrapped him up in a blanket. I ran into the basement. The only thing I can think of was saving my little brother’s life."
"This tornado was very severe and destroyed many things in Springfield. It destroyed many important things like schools, homes and shelters. I was a witness my self for example I’ve never seen the tornado from a block away and warned as many as I could. I was scared and nervous because I never witness something this big before. I hope that everyone was OK and I wish he bestest luck for everybody."
